Italy's privacy authority sanctioned broadcaster R.T.I. (Mediaset) for using AI-generated deepfake videos of journalist Enrico Mentana on Striscia la Notizia, manipulating his image and voice without consent. The authority found violations of privacy, transparency, and data protection laws, prohibiting further use of Mentana's data in this manner.
