Researchers found that Meta's ad platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, ran over 50 paid ads containing AI-generated child sexual abuse imagery between November 2025 and August 2026. Meta's AI-based moderation systems failed to detect and block these ads, allowing harmful content to reach thousands of users across the US, UK, and Europe.
