Officials from the IMF and OECD warn that AI adoption is leading to significant layoffs and job displacement, especially among young and entry-level workers. Poorer countries and smaller businesses face challenges accessing AI, risking increased economic inequality and social harm as AI automates tasks and boosts productivity.
